A former initial attack firefighter for the USFS and NPS, Timothy was the director of the Western Fire Ecology Center from 1997-2004 (www.fire-ecology.org). He is a research associate and adjunct instructor of wildland fire courses at the University of Oregon. Timothy also serves as secretary of the board of directors for the nonprofit Association for Fire Ecology. Timothy is the executive director of FUSEE.

A veteran USFS Smokejumper and Hotshot firefighter with 25 years firefighting experience, Joseph is a writer and artist. Joseph was a Regent's Fellow at U.C. Berkeley while earning a doctorate in forest entomology. Currently, Joseph analyzes wildfire management, forest ecology, and forest health issues for public interest groups. Joseph serves as president of the board of FUSEE.

A former USFS Smokejumper with 10 years experience, David is an attorney and is the director of Nonprofit Support Services, a company that assists nonprofits with legal, financial, and organizational matters. David has a BA and MA in Environmental Management, and a certification of specialization in Natural Resource Law. David has also taught Public Land Law for many years as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Oregon Law School. David serves as secretary of the board of FUSEE.

Since entering the field of fire management in 1977, Mary's experience has ranged from hotshot and engine crewmember to Prescribed Fire Specialist and Fire Management Officer. She is currently working as a regional fuels specialist for the US Fish and Wildlife Service in Alaska. One of Mary's projects uses Native Alaskan crews to implement fuels reduction projects to protect communities from wildfire. Mary is also a graduate student in the Cross Cultural Studies program at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks and is interested in traditional cultural relationships with fire. Mary serves as FUSEE's treasurer.

He has over twenty years of experience in wildland fire suppression, prescribed burning, fire management planning, firefighter training, fire interpretation and education. A self-described professional "jack of many trades," Stephen is an expert in community forestry and ecological restoration. He has worked for private forestry and firefighting companies, and volunteers with The Nature Conservancy’s fire management program in Oregon. He is also a certified firefighter crew boss, and is a lead instructor for the Oregon Firefighting Contractor's Association.

A former USFS Hotshot foreman and fuels technician with 20 years of firefighting experience, Rich has led several Inter-Disciplinary Teams working on post-fire recovery projects. Rich helped found the nonprofit Forest Service Employees for Environmental Ethics (FSEEE), and has a M.S. in public policy and management. Rich is currently a fire educator/policy analyst for The Wilderness Society and serves on FUSEE's executive committee.

A former interpretive ranger for California State Parks and the National Park Service, Tom is an expert on the role of fire in the Southwest. He has worked on a USFS timber cruising crew, and was a member of the prescribed fire crew at Yosemite National Park and Bandelier National Monument. Tom has a M.A. in environmental studies, and is currently writing a book on the natural history of the Cerro Grande fire. Tom serves on FUSEE's executive committee.

Mei Lin is currently working as an Assistant Fire Management Officer for the USFS in Oregon, and has 8 years of fire experience. She was a USFS Hotshot squad boss and helirappeller, and also worked in fuels planning and prescribed fire implementation. Mei Lin has a B.S. in forestry from the University of California at Berkeley.
