Reporter’s Guides

Our Reporter’s Guide to Wildland Fire and individual tipsheets are intended to help journalists improve the accuracy, quality and value of their stories on wildfire events and fire management issues. With these helpful resources, we hope to inspire more investigative reporting on wildfire events and coverage of a broader range of fire management issues beyond the conventional focus on firefighting. We also offer some documents that disclose how official agency spokespersons aim to communicate with reporters.
